Community Agreement

Pages | Fukuoka Art Book Fair(FABF)is an event where domestic and international publishers, artists, designers, and galleries producing unique art books, as well as bookstores and distributors promoting the art book culture to a wider audience gather together to respectively deliver the charm of books in person.

We aim to build a platform that would support the fruitful growth of a community through the connection the art books can bear, and within the events and spaces we host, we encourage an open-minded exchange of ideas based on mutual respect. Hence, there is an absolute need for us to protect an environment where all participants, visitors, partners, staff, and many others involved in this event, each with a different background and set of values, face no discrimination of any kind.

This is why we ask all people taking part in FABF to stand by the following community agreement.

  • To be inclusive and respectful of all race, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, disability, religion, age, appearance and physical characteristics, language, etc. Discriminatory remarks, harassment, or hate speech are strictly forbidden.
  • To be aware of one’s privilege. To not abuse one’s power based on race, sex, social and/or economic status.
  • To be mindful of others’ boundaries and to not engage in any inappropriate physical contact, harassment and stalking.
  • If you feel unwell, please refrain from participating in the event, putting your own and others’ health first.
  • To be respectful of other participants and to not obstruct presentations and events.
  • To reach out to the people and staff around you for help, if you are being harassed or feel unsafe in any way.
  • If you see someone in need of help, please inform the event staff or contact us at info@fukuokaartbookfair.com
  • If we are informed of the possibility of any infringement, the Pages | Fukuoka Art Book Fair management will look into the matter thoroughly. If it is deemed to be an offence, you may be asked to leave the programs or the event space hosted by FABF.

Regardless of how small it may be, we hope to bring positive change into the art book community, and to the world. Thank you to all community members for your understanding and cooperation.
