Q Could you share a little about yourself?
I’m an independent artist based in Athens, Greece. Experimenting constantly on lettering, forms, space and rythms, so to communicate visually and start fertile conversations with curious people. I have exhibited my woodcut-prints and original paintings mainly around Europe, but also Brazil and Japan. Part of my practice is self-publishing my work in the format of a book, solely or in collaboration with other artists and graphic designers. Over the years I have been taken part in Art-Book Fairs in Norway, Latvia, Germany, Greece, Denmark and elsewhere. My academical studies are on Painting, Traditional Printmaking and Graphic Design. : )

Q Please tell us about your booth plans for Pages | Fukuoka Art Book Fair 2025.
You are all very welcome to pass by and discover my booth’s content which will be variable. I’ll be travelling to Japan all the way from Greece, so I’m planning to select carefully and bring a good number of available copies of my favourite published or even unpublished editions, Riso-prints or even some of my original drawings on paper. I’m excited I can bring the latest book “Three Landscapes” which is designed by Angelina Stavela, and is dedicated to the special air-flows and textures of my painting practice, using the smoke-traces of bee-wax candles. An other worth-mentioning book is “Pilot in the Woods 2.5” dedicated to my year-long drawing practice of asemic-writing works on paper and photos I took in caves and places I visited and got inspiration. I’ll be happy to meet you all and talk!

Q Please tell us about a place in Fukuoka that you recommend or would love to visit.
I’ll try to find time and a way to visit Shiranami Waterfall which what I found is in the suburbs of Fukuoka. A short trail-run or hike through the forest. It’s my first time in Japan and I’m quite curious to observe as many ecosystems as I’m able to, and also document plants and mushrooms growing this season.

Q What inspired you to start publishing? And what motivates you to continue?
I have started painting Graffiti since 2002, when I found a publication about it hidden on one shelf of my school’s library. Graffiti has it’s own culture and genre of publishing zines, books and movies. It’s one of the most effective ways to create a naration, to spread the facts, selected pictures and ideas through the many people who are curious about it or interested to follow the news and support this culture. I attended my first Zine Fest in 2010 as long as I can remember. I made my first zine during my studies on Graphic Design and then I took part in Athens Zine Fest in 2012. Since then I started making at least 2 zines/books every year and taking part on at least one event. It’s the common space where makers can meet each other, visitors can meet all participants and the art of book-making can be introduced to the next generations.

Q Message for visitors.
I’m mainly drawing, painting or shooting photos in an abstract way, but following a well structured process. Abstract pictures can be seen differently by each person from any cultural or linguistic background. We all have our own references and personal experiences. We just need to come before an abstract picture with an open mind and good will.
I’ll be there personally to answer every question, if you need. I’m very open for any kind of conversation, or even if you prefer exploring my booth with silence, I can be discreet and respect that. Looking forward to being there for those three fantastic days.
ps.
I’m not able to speak Japanese, so I hope English can work well as a “bridge” between us, regarding our communication. : )
