Q Could you share a little about yourself?
BeHyunsil is a one-person publishing studio based in Seoul, meaning both ‘unreal’ and ‘to be real’. Through zines and artist publications, BeHyunsil explores visual narratives combining illustration, handcrafted elements, and risograph printing.
Q Please tell us about your booth plans for Pages | Fukuoka Art Book Fair 2025.
BeHyunsil will present a friendly zine about experiencing FABF 2024, and a visual archive of Korea’s presidential impeachment through 204 perspectives. Both works explore experimental formats
Q Please tell us about a place in Fukuoka that you recommend or would love to visit.
Ao-hata Bookstore:
House of rare design books and an extensive collection with art and design publications.
Q What inspired you to start publishing? And what motivates you to continue?
I find art books and zines to be unique platforms where design meets artistic expression. By combining text, drawings and printed matter, I create personal narratives that can connect with readers in meaningful ways.
Q Message for visitors.
As someone who attended FABF 2024 as a visitor, I’m thrilled to return as a publisher in 2025! Please feel free to drop by and say hello 🙂
