Following last year, the Pages Free Library will return to the outdoor Yummy Area. This space features a selection of art books—each exhibitor contributing one book—available for anyone to freely browse and enjoy.
As the main venues, Bunshokan and Yokoden, have some limitations in terms of accessibility, this area is intended as an open space where anyone can casually encounter a part of the fair.
The books presented this year will be donated after the fair to the reading room operated by Common Imprint in Berlin, Germany. This independent library focuses on Asian publishing, where the donated books will be preserved and made accessible to the public on an ongoing basis.
Common Imprint
Common Imprint’s reading room presents over 1000 independent publications from Asia, open by appointment every Weekend. It aims to create a shared platform and laboratory for investigating publication-related disciplines from South- East– and East Asia. The space will be for anyone who loves books and will host talks, events, workshops, and exhibitions relating to Asian publications in the field of fine art, photography, film, design and architecture.
